Significantly larger than mice, the presence of rats is synonymous with poor sanitation and can cause significant damage to your brand. In North America, the two most common pest rats are the Norway rat and the roof rat, which require different elimination tactics. Steritech’s core Zero Tolerance® Pest Prevention program includes service for rats, both on the interior and exterior. Steritech will work in partnership with you to correct conditions conducive to rat activity, while at the same time eliminating any current rat infestation in your facility. Your cooperation plays a critical role in keeping rats out of your establishment, since the smallest lapses in inspecting incoming goods, structural soundness and sanitation can promote rat activity.
Steritech's Rodent Service Steritech utilizes a variety of tools in monitoring for rat activity, including glue boards, snap traps and non-toxic baits. Once your Service Specialist has identified activity or potential areas of activity, he or she will identify the rat species to ensure the correct elimination measures are used, and then take steps to remove the pests.
Rodent bait stations are strategically placed on the exterior to provide initial lines of defense, helping to prevent rodents from entering your facility. Multiple catch traps, and various other trapping devices, are strategically placed on the interior as needed, or as required by specification.
Safety is our Number One Service Fundamental Sanitation, Structural and Landscaping Recommendations Rats require a free source of water to survive, so your Service Specialist may make recommendations to fix leaks, adjust sprinkler schedules, or remove standing water. Rats are truly omnivorous and while each species has preferences for food, they will eat whatever food is made available to them. Good sanitation is crucial to preventing rat issues, so your Specialist will also make sanitation recommendations to reduce the likelihood of rats taking up residence in your building.
Your Steritech Service Specialist may also make suggestions on changing elements of your landscaping to reduce rodent pressures and make your facility less attractive to rats.
