House mice are commensal rodents, meaning they can live and thrive in close proximity to humans. A mouse issue in any facility can be disturbing to employees, customers, guests, patients or residents, and can lead to the destruction of food supplies, equipment, and the building itself.

Steritech’s core Zero Tolerance® Pest Prevention program includes service for mice, both on the interior and exterior. Steritech will work in partnership with you to correct conditions conducive to mouse activity, while at the same time eliminating any current mouse infestation in your facility. Your cooperation plays a critical role in keeping mice out of your establishment, since the smallest lapses in inspecting incoming goods, structural soundness and sanitation can result in a mouse issue.

Steritech’s Rodent Service
Steritech’s service begins with a thorough survey of your facility to look for signs of mouse activity, including live or dead mice, gnaw marks, damaged goods, droppings, rub marks and runways. Once your Service Specialist has identified activity or potential areas of activity, he or she will take steps to remove the pests and correct issues that may be contributing to the activity.

Rodent bait stations are strategically placed on the exterior to provide initial lines of defense, helping to prevent rodents from entering your facility. Multiple catch traps, and various other trapping devices, are strategically placed on the interior as needed, or as required by specification.

Safety is our Number One Service Fundamental
Because safety is paramount, Steritech uses non-toxic bait blocks to monitor for rodent activity. Rodenticides are put in place at the first sign of activity to eliminate rodents. Steritech’s exclusive MPU-14 bait station is tamper-proof to further ensure the safety of your products and employees.

Sanitation, Structural and Landscaping Recommendations
One of the key elements of Steritech’s service for mice is a review of structural, sanitation, and landscaping conditions at your establishment. House mice can enter a facility through gaps as small as 1/4-inch, making the smallest crack or hole an opportunity for entry. Your Steritech Service Specialist will make minor structural repairs during your service, filling or screening cracks and small holes. If larger repairs are necessary, your Service Specialist will note them on his or her Service Report. Often, Steritech can help perform these larger maintenance issues for an additional charge.

Mice need very little food to survive and, unlike rats, absorb water from the food they eat, so they do not need a free-standing source of water to live. Good sanitation is crucial to preventing mouse issues, so your Specialist will also make sanitation recommendations to reduce the likelihood of mice taking up residence in your building.

Certain types of vegetation, the location of your exterior trash receptacles, debris, and even the way in which landscapers mow the lawn may contribute to mouse activity. Your Steritech Service Specialist may make suggestions on changing elements of your landscaping to reduce rodent pressures and make your facility less attractive to mice.
